What is Forage Map?
Forage Map is a free, community-built map of wild foraging spots across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It helps you find edible and medicinal plants near you — chanterelles, ramps, nettles, elderberry, and hundreds more — with seasons, habitat, access type, and safety notes for each spot.
How it works
- Browse the map by your location or any region.
- Filter by plant or season to find what's in season near you.
- Color-coded pins show access: green = free public land, yellow = paid access, red = private or unknown.
- Add a spot to share knowledge with the community.
Forage responsibly
Always positively identify a plant before consuming it. Many wild edibles have toxic lookalikes. Respect private property, follow local regulations, take only what you need, and leave enough for the ecosystem and other foragers.
